The great mass of the world's currencies are, like the Bitcoin and its fellows, simply digits on computer memories. No Central Bank wants its monetary digits to rise substantially in value against the other Central Bank monetary digits.
What that great world monetary system based on the paper dollar has done to the US, was quite unexpected: it consists in obtaining foreign goods by tendering paper money in payment, something that is fundamentally fraudulent. And that fraud has come back to haunt the US, quite unexpectedly.
Human life is going to change radically, from here to the end of the present century, as the Petroleum Age comes to an end. The world will inevitably turn to the use of coal as a fuel, with all its drawbacks. The imminent drastic reduction in the amount of energy injected into human society, implies that the population of the globe will have to suffer a mega-contraction in the course of the next 80 years.
There is a lot of commentary going around the world, regarding Trump’s initiation of a “Trade War” to rebuild America’s industries. The US collapse into the “Trade War” syndrome only obfuscates the real outcome: the end of the US dollar as the world’s fundamental currency.
